Most of us use Microsoft Office Communicator at work. There could be various occasions when one might have wanted to be online but invisible to contacts. I bet the ‘Managers’ want this badly.
Well, there’s a way to enable the ‘Invisible’ mode in the communicator. It works by adding/modifying a couple Windows Registry Values. Here are the steps:
1. Open windows Registry editor: Start -> Run -> regedit.exe.
2. Expand \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator. Here add or modify (if it already exists) key by name `EnableAppearOffline’, and set its value to 1 (type double word).
3. Similary expand \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator and add or modify (if it already exists) key by name `EnableAppearOffline’, and set its value to 1 (type double word).
The registry can also be modified using a .reg script.
